The story “The Society Far Away” is based on some true stories/events and some parts of the story are based on imagination hence we have changed some of the original characters. October 1993: Their house was fully decorated with blooms, lights, and balloons on the occasion of her birthday. She had turned 13 that year and was on the edge of attaining maturity. After their party was over, her parents went to her room and sat behind her. Her father gave over a doll to her and blessed with his whole heart. She grinned euphorically, and subsequent to having a few talks, he showed her a prospectus of a boarding school and started describing the facilities of that school. She was listening deliberately as she was not aware of the news she would hear after her father finished his description. “We are intending to send my sweet little princess to this beautiful world. You can get a huge scope of opportunities in this place. I know it would be difficult for you to live without us, however dear, you don’t need to feel forlorn; we will always visit you on the weekends. This is a promise. As the new session will start, we shall go and visit your new school,” he said after finishing his description. Her heart ached after she knew the reason yet she didn’t refuse their decision. She thought they might be sad to her refusal, but from inside she was not prepared to go. This was their lone decision and may be the correct decision as well.
Arangana Trivedi was the darling heart of her family. Being the youngest member of the family and the single child of her parents, she was brought up with intense love and care. Her amiable and joyous nature made her renowned in her society. As her father was a professor and her mother was a bank manager by their professions she never feels the presence of scarcity in her childhood. Yet she was neither concerned about what she had nor had ever demanded anything from her parents. While the world indulged in discussing people she kept herself busy in reading fairy tales……………………..
